Another day in Paradise

This is my birthday in blog speak. My first try at blogging. I have been reading many many blogs over the last few months and thought it was time to try out my wings and see what I could come up with to entertain and just get things off my chest.
I have just spent the last two weeks having my home remodeled. I could say it has been such an inconvenience having to put up with all of the construction guys in and out of my house making messes but I would be lying. I have loved every minute of it and am sad that the work is now done and over with (pouting) I am a single woman in her 50's and haven't dated for some years now (probably close to 7 years without a date.....grrrrr). It does get lonely sometimes and it was so nice having so many virile young men around me. They made my house look beautiful (new windows, new bathroom, new front door and storm door) and clean and new again. This old house was built in 1952 and I bought it 3 years ago. It still had the same old kitchen cabinets in it, which I changed soon as I moved in. The next thing I want to get done now is to pull up the carpet in the living room and my master bedroom and refinish the beautiful hardwood floors that are underneath the carpet.
I am also busy preparing myself to go in and have BPD/DS surgery here in Indianapolis with a Dr. Inman. I thought very long and very hard about doing this and have finally come to the conclusion that it is the best thing for me in the long run. It gets harder to take off weight as I get older and if I don't get off some of this weight it is going to kill me, and I've got too much livin left in me to let that happen yet.
Well I am going to end this diatribe for now and hopefully will do more tomorrow. I do lead a pretty boring life right now but hopefully that will change soon. If not then this poor ol blog will just die.
Thanks for dropping by and visiting my place.
